Doug Marker is a San Diego skater from the original SoCal pool era. He came up in the 1970s, riding the shift from parks to backyard bowls, and was sponsored by Gull Wing Trucks while chasing sessions across the region. Pool skating “hooked” him in 1975 and never really let go.
Today, Marker is best known for starting Deathracer413, a crew that keeps the OG vert and park skaters rolling together with regular meet-ups and roadshow sessions across Southern California. Local coverage and features spotlight him as the organizer and heartbeat of the group, part community builder, part lifer who still shows up to shred as hard as the rest of em.
His link to Skaterbuilt is long-running and direct. We partnered on the Skaterbuilt × Deathracer413 collab, his OG shape, to put that history and community on a board. He spearheaded the Deathracer413 brand and crew, which is exactly why his name belongs here.
